Uber has introduced a new service, Uber Comfort, in Kenya, offering riders enhanced features for a more comfortable experience, including extra legroom and the option for silent rides. While Uber Comfort has already been launched in various markets such as South Africa, Ghana, and Ivory Coast, its official introduction in Kenya aims to cater to discerning passengers seeking a modern, spacious, and personalized mode of transportation.

Imran Manji, Head of East Africa at Uber, expressed the company’s commitment to reimagining how people move, emphasizing the launch of Uber Comfort in Nairobi as a means to provide passengers with a premium and customizable transportation option. The service not only caters to passenger preferences but also expands economic opportunities for drivers.

One notable feature of Uber Comfort is the inclusion of newer and larger vehicles, ensuring a minimum legroom requirement of approximately three feet. Passengers can specify their preferred temperature through the app before the trip and even request a quiet ride if they prefer not to engage in conversation with the driver.

Uber Comfort trips will be priced slightly higher than equivalent UberX trips, generally ranging between 15-20% more. The company emphasizes that riders opting for Uber Comfort will experience some of the newest vehicles on the Uber platform, featuring spacious interiors and ample legroom, allowing for a more comfortable journey.

This move by Uber addresses the growing demand for customizable and premium transportation services, providing riders with additional options tailored to their preferences.
