Kenya Airways Unveils Network Adjustments for Peak Travel Season

Kenya Airways has unveiled a series of network adjustments for the upcoming peak season, aiming to enhance operational efficiency in response to market demand. The changes are part of the airline’s Business Continuity Plan, as explained by Martin Gitonga, KQ’s Head of Network Planning and Alliances.

Route Adjustments

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Starting July 1, 2024, Kenya Airways will increase its flights to Dar es Salaam by adding services on Wednesdays and Fridays, enhancing daily midday operations.

Johannesburg, South Africa
From August 1, 2024, Kenya Airways will upgrade its five weekly nighttime flights to Johannesburg to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This adjustment is part of the airline’s broader schedule, which includes 26 weekly flights to Johannesburg.

Cape Town, South Africa
Effective August 1, 2024, all three weekly non-stop flights from Nairobi to Cape Town will be serviced by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This upgrade will feature 30 full lie-flat seats in business class and 204 economy seats with generous pitch.

Douala, Cameroon
Beginning August 11, 2024, Kenya Airways will operate all five weekly flights to Douala non-stop from Nairobi. This change will shorten flight times and improve connectivity, eliminating the need for a tag flight.

Bangui, Central African Republic
Starting August 9, 2024, Kenya Airways will suspend its five weekly flights to Bangui. However, the cargo service will continue as usual. Passengers with bookings affected by this suspension will be contacted by the airline to arrange alternative travel options, including rebooking, refunds, or rerouting.

Kenya Airways remains committed to optimizing its flight schedule to better align with demand and performance objectives, ensuring a smoother travel experience for its passengers.
