Gebeya collaborates with O’Reilly to enhance tech skills among Africans

Gebeya has joined forces with O’Reilly to empower thousands of Africans with essential technology skills. This strategic partnership, announced recently, aims to broaden access to O’Reilly’s extensive learning resources for young people across the continent.

For over four decades, O’Reilly has been a leading provider of technology and business learning solutions, offering a vast library of over 5,000 expert-developed courses. Covering a wide array of topics ranging from data analytics and infrastructure architecture to artificial intelligence and cloud services, O’Reilly’s content is sourced from prominent publishers like Harvard Business Review, Pearson, and Wiley.

“We are excited to collaborate with Gebeya on this impactful initiative to upskill thousands of Africans in technology. Our diverse range of content formats, including books, videos, sandboxes, and live online courses, will provide learners with invaluable resources,” stated Alexia Pedersen, Senior Vice President International at O’Reilly.

Gebeya’s Talent Cloud technology, powered by AI and configurable as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, enables partners and customers to create their own talent ecosystems. By integrating O’Reilly’s extensive course offerings into Talent Clouds, Gebeya aims to equip African talent with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital economy.

Martin Ndlovu, Chief Growth Officer of Gebeya, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in providing opportunities for African talent: “This partnership with O’Reilly expands the horizons of opportunity for millions across the African continent, enabling them to access world-class learning resources.”

The integration of O’Reilly’s courses into Gebeya’s Talent Clouds aligns with Gebeya’s broader partnership with Microsoft to establish the largest-ever Microsoft Talent Cloud for Africa. Leveraging O’Reilly’s curated Microsoft-aligned courses, the Microsoft Talent Cloud will offer specialized learning paths in areas like Azure administration and AI engineering, preparing individuals for in-demand roles and connecting them with abundant opportunities across Africa.

Through this powerful combination, talents completing the curated learning paths will earn industry-recognized O’Reilly badges certifying their competencies, providing them with access to specialized Azure courses, practice exams, and a plethora of resources to enhance their skills and career prospects in the technology sector.
