Rivia, a prominent health tech company based in Ghana, has made waves with its recent acquisition of Waffle, another Ghanaian SaaS firm specializing in software for small and medium-sized businesses. This strategic move is set to hasten the digitization of Rivia’s network of primary care clinics while streamlining its operations. Notably, Waffle’s hospital and inventory management software now falls under Rivia’s umbrella, rebranded as RiviaOS, with Waffle’s founder, Victor Nara, assuming the role of Rivia’s chief technology officer.
RiviaOS, functioning as a Healthcare-as-a-Service (HaaS) solution, empowers healthcare providers with a suite of features, including appointment scheduling, video consultations, e-pharmacy, and AI-powered health diagnosis, among others. This initiative responds to the prevalent issue of inadequate infrastructure and technology hindering efficient primary care services in Ghana and other regions. Rivia’s approach involves establishing an “asset-light” network, offering partner clinics infrastructure upgrades, inventory supplies, and technology to ensure a consistent and satisfactory patient experience. With the integration of Waffle’s capabilities and resources, Rivia aims to expand its reach, accelerate innovation, and solidify its position as a leading network of primary care clinics in emerging markets.
