Cellulant, a Pan-African payment gateway firm, has appointed Peter O’Toole as the acting CEO following the sudden departure of Akshay Grover. Grover stepped down to focus on personal matters after taking over as CEO in October 2021. He succeeded Ken Njoroge, the co-founder, and under Grover’s leadership, Cellulant strengthened its position in Africa and internationally.
The company expressed commitment to maintaining momentum and sustaining growth during the transition. Cellulant plans to enhance its leadership team with experienced executives in the payments sector, and further announcements are expected. O’Toole, with over 30 years of experience, will lead the company, drawing on his extensive background in banking, finance, and technology across various regions.
