The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has joined forces with Syokinet Solutions, an Internet Service Provider (ISP), to launch a new high-capacity fiber optic cable with a data throughput of 1.6 Terabits Per Second (Tbps). This fiber line stretches from Mombasa to Nairobi and aims to significantly enhance internet speeds and reliability in Kenya’s two largest cities.

The project includes plans to lay 100,000 kilometers (62,000 miles) of fiber optic cable, establish 25,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots, and create 1,450 digital hubs across the country.
